| K1MZ | SA HIGH ALL | Good contest. lots of operators confused by my zone number, must be using out of date program data. I am not sure signal reports are necessary if everyone uses 59. Zone number exchange and callsign maybe enough |

| K3CCR | MULTI-TWO | K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and W5MPB did Multi-2 HP in the 2025 CQ SSB. In each test we want to beat last-years’ results. But, it seemed unlikely SFI was 200+ in 2024 and only 125-130 this year. We did it anyway! We got 0.97 X the QSO pts and 1.06 X the mults for 1.03 X the claimed score. It helped that Kp was 2.7-2.7 00-05Z, but mostly 0.7 to 1.3 after that. At start 00-0108Z N3UM got 48 20-M Qs, 12 in a slow run. He then got 24 40-M Qs 0125-0206Z and 33 80-M Qs 0223-0435Z, plus band-hopping 0247 to 0454Z QRT for 18 more 40-M Qs & 4 160-M Qs. W5MPB got 35 40-M Qs 00-0034Z & 9 15-M Qs 0041-0102Z. Then he got 123 20-M Qs 0113-0410Z, clearing the band map. He got 10 more 40-M Qs 0412-0422Z while it refilled, then 23 more 20-M Qs by 0454Z QRT. Back at 1200Z, N3UM got 51 20-M Qs by 1451Z and quit to eat. Back 1201-1245Z, W5MPB got 38 15-M Qs. Then he found 10 M hot he got 265 Qs 1246-1609Z & quit to eat. He had 90 & 91 Qs in the 14 & 15Z hours FB with SFI of 125-130! N3UM 1702-1907Z got 106 15-M Qs, then 57 10-M Qs 1914-2026Z & 14 more 15-M Qs 2050-2106Z, then quit to eat. Back from lunch at 1734Z, W5MPB got 112 Qs on 20 M by 2151Z and quit for supper. Back 2236-0059Z, N3UM band-hopped for 20 40-M Qs and 24 20-M Qs. Then he got 14 more 40-M Qs 0104 to 0159Z QRT & quit to sleep. From 2233-2238Z W5MPB got 5 20-M Qs, then 43 15-M Qs 2248-0159Z QRT, plus band-hops for 18 10-M Qs & 10 80-M Qs. Back at 1148Z, W5MPB got 44 15-M Qs by 1237Z, then 53 10-M Qs 1239-1329Z + 1 15-M Q at at 1335Z. He had to fix a bad computer crash 1336-1440Z. Then 1440-1642Z he got 118 10-M Qs plus a band-hop 1605-1625Z for 25 15-M Qs, & quit to eat. Back 1200- 1323Z N3UM got 24 20-M Qs, then 46 10-M Qs 1350-1436Z + 2 20-M Qs by 1508Z & quit to eat. Back 1750-2256Z, W5MPB hopped 2 bands to get 167 10-M Qs and 96 15-M Qs by 2256Z QRT. N3UM 1751-2203Z got 38 20-M Qs & 5 40-M Qs. Score went past our 2024 claim at ~2140Z |

| K4PZZ | SA HIGH ALL | Wow, what a great weekend! Last-minute erection of the tribander happened Friday afternoon which greatly aided with 20/15/10. The SB-220 was completed Thursday night but unfortunately has no output, so I have more digging to do into that. The SB-200 held up throughout, pumping out enough wattage to make a difference it would seem. For somebody that has had mostly fixed-direction or omni antennas most of their life, putting a little 3-el tribander up at 40' is night and day before this contest, I had 11 JA's in the log. I worked 39 JA's in this contest... and there could have been more, but I started hunting mults towards the end of the contest as the bands were opening to JA/VK/ZL. Planned on doing a semi-serious effort and wanted to put in some run time with SO2V S&P on the side, but couldn't get the audio worked out before the contest started, so except for a brief 15 minutes or so calling CQ on 15m, it was all S&P. Worked 37 zones, 137 DXCC. Once confirmation is received, I'll have WAZ finally (missing 26 and 34 before the contest). 12 ATNO DXCC's, and 56 band slots. Was hoping for a 'slight improvement' over last year and I think I accomplished that and then some! FT-2000, SB-200, TA-33 @ 40ft for 10/15/20, and a doublet on 40/80. Thanks for all the QSO's! |

| K4TMC | SO LOW 10M | Portable Field Day-style operation from ancient sand dune (15 to 18 ft ASL) at Atlantic Beach, NC (Bogue Banks), Grid FM14pq, IOTA NA-112, US Islands NC-010S. Wow! A great trip…the weather was great, the company (wife Mary Ann and dog Zoe) was wonderful, local beef brisket (yes…at the beach) was as good as ever, and the contest was awesome more about that below. Originally planned to drive down Wednesday afternoon such that I would have all day Thursday and Friday to casually get the antennas assembled and erected. I believe in the saying… you cannot have too many antennas. Sadly, we were not able to leave until noon on Thursday. So, it was a mad rush (again!) to get the antennas up and deploy the cables through the house to the rig. I would have liked to install at least 2 more fixed yagis. As it was, I was able to only get a short 1 hour nap (at 73 I really needed it) before dinner and the contest start. Friday night start was a bust, even though Friday afternoon the band was in good condition with lots of stations on calling CQ. Only managed 2 contacts over a 2 hour stint tuning the VFO knob between 28.300 and 28.600. So what does a good XYL say…”was this trip really worth it! Saturday morning I was up at 1030Z. With a fresh mug of coffee, I was mentally prepared to just do S&P-only for the day and maybe switch to running if the conditions were good. As it turned out, by mid-morning the band was full from 28.200 all the way to above 29.000. So, I just kept going with the S&P since it was getting me a lot of new mults with every turn of the dial. I finally did a short run in the afternoon before the weak Europeans disappeared. Worked a number of JA and VK before the band went out. Finished the evening at 2330Z, working a fading VK, with 357 Qs, 98 countries and 27 zones. I logged into the Online Scoreboard, entered my day’s results, and was surprised to be No. 1 in the SO-10 LP list followed closely by 9Z4CT. Sunday morning I was at the rig again, coffee in hand, waiting for the band to open and devote the day to mostly running. Finally started to make contacts at 1130Z doing S&P (with too many dupe stations and only a few new mults) looking for a good place to run. Found a good spot around 28.918 and started running at 1230Z. The first half hour run was slow, not much better rate than the previous hour of S&P. At 1300Z a MI1 contact said he was putting me on the cluster. Wow…I had a run-away horse carriage for two hours with rates between 121 to 240 per hour. I only picked up a few new mults during that period, including the rare Zone 40. Continued the run until around 1530Z, then switched back to S&P, picking up a few more mults and rare Zone 35 until 1830. I had to stop then as we needed to head back home around 6pm. So, it was another mad dash to take down and disassemble the antennas and masts, pack everything up, and hit the road back to Cary, NC for some appointments on Monday morning…yeah, poor planning. Final thoughts…this was one of my better efforts. A number of ATNO country and zone contacts. I missed Zone 34 due to the huge pileup, and Zone 18 due to the station not getting my call correct before I faded away. However, I like to think I could have done much better if I had more time prior to the contest and had stayed until the finish. With only the second yagi being manually rotated for SE thru NW, there was a lot of running through the house to the back deck for quick orientation changes. Rig: Elecraft K3+ with Heil HC4 mic element Logging: N1MM+ Antennas: Fixed to Europe 6-element 10M rope boom yagi (Buddipole parts) at 30 ft AGL (on 15 to 18 ft ASL sand dune) supported by two BlueSky Mast systems 4-element bent wire yagi on BuddiHex frame at 30 ft AGL, manual rotation PAR EF-10 end fed half wave vertical (used as low noise receive antenna) with top at 45 ft AGL on carbon/fiberglass telescopic pole. The bases of the 4-element yagi mast (Mastwerks) and vertical support pole were on 2nd floor deck, 9 ft AGL. 73 & High Rates, Henry – K4TMC |

My 160m antenna was not installed, and my totals on 80m and 40m were quite low. Good to hear the friends, new and old! Thanks for the QSOs. Glenn K6NA |
