| N6BT | SA HIGH ALL | Running 500 watts is OK, but the difference between full power working DX is more than obvious🙂 Need to get the main amp back on line. First 2 hours was plagued with computer issues and finally stopped. Got it running Saturday and then was on between other tasks. LP40 Sat AM was nice. Need to learn more about the on-line scoreboard. 73, Tom N6BT |
| N6DW | SA HIGH ALL | Thanksgiving weekend only left me some operating time of Sunday. Would have loved to spend the whole weekend operating |
| N6HI | SO QRP ALL | 5 Watts to a 20 Foot end-fed wire, thrown in a tree out my window. Completed 126 QSOs in 37 Countries. I beat my last year # QSOs, but even with more operating time I still had less Mults than last year. 10m was the best band for me, with 30 Countries worked on 10m. Europe was pretty weak Sat morning and still a bit weak Sunday. I am surprised I had more contacts in Africa (8) than in Europe (6). A really fun contest. One highlight was a 40m contact with China. My 'best DX' contact was St Helena. Many Island hoppers! TNX. Thanks to all for your patience and the QSOs. Pure CW Fun! GO ARIZONA OUTLAWS! -73- John N6HI |
| N6KI | SA HIGH ALL | Rotator Stuck NE at 45 degrees, luckily since it is a SteppIR I could do a 180 Reverse azimuth to Pacific and also run a bunch of JAs so just played for a few hours |
| N6PE | SA HIGH ALL | 10M antenna was dead, had to use a vertical |
| N6RO | MULTI-MULTI | Auroral conditions made for an interesting contest from the West US coast with some propagation twists! Our team had a great time as usual plugging away from Zone 3! |
| N6RV | SA HIGH ALL | Ten meters was not as hot as the phone contest but the other bands made up for the difference. Unlike the phone contest 40 meters was very good and 80 was fun! I cranked up the speed to 23 WPM for the last 20 minutes of the contest and noticed that the stations calling were more attentive. I will operate at a higher speed from now on! I noticed that for every real post there were 3 with the wrong call sign. The band map looked like a busy day on FT8 with nothing but calls filling it completely! Those blasted automatic posts! I haven't seen in my life so many AP and TN stations at once! Thanks for the patience. I have fat fingers and hit two keys at once. The real fun in this whole thing is meeting people on all bands! |
| N6SPP | SA LOW ALL | EUs were tough on 10m on the Hexbeam @6m asl..Lots of fun this weekend |
| N6VOH | SA HIGH ALL | Great contest, band conditions just ok. Spend time doing other household things |
| N6XI | SA HIGH ALL | Europe scarce, weak, tough - Maybe I should have been OTA Saturday morning PT but I wasn't |
| N6YEU | SO LOW ALL | Great fun! THE contest! |
| N7DB | SA LOW 15M | Testing out a new vertical this afternoon. Did well |
| N7EPD | SA HIGH ALL | Not a great start on Friday. Conditions were poor and most European contacts were search and pounce until Sunday morning on 20M. Good JA runs but that is about all. Seemed like the bottom of the solar cycle instead of near the top at times |
| N7GR | SO HIGH 15M | Enjoyed the short time I was in the contest. Lots of stations despite relatively poor conditions |
| N7JI | SO QRP ALL | Good conditions on all bands. Kind of nice to see |
| N7RCS | SO QRP ALL | Setup: Xcvr: KX3. Antenna: AX3 at 13 feet on a condo porch rail with a dozen raised radials at 12 feet. World Radio League logging |
| N7SE | SO LOW ALL | As usual - great contest. Thanks |
| N7VPN | SO LOW ALL | Reception was bad at my QTH. Had fun |
| N8VWY | SO HIGH ALL | IC-7100, VIRBOPLEX SINGLE PADDLE, ARDUINO KEYER, HOMEBREW LOGGER, WIRE ANTENNAS, TU ALL GL 73 |
| N8WXQ | SO HIGH ALL | The Thanksgiving holiday limited my operating. Band conditions were Unusually bad. 15m had high noise levels but 10 and 20 were Ok Inoticed that Kp varied from about 5.5 to 3.5 and the SSN was as low as 62 |
| N9DK | SO LOW ALL | Lots of fun! I should have been on the air more |
| N9MSG | SO LOW ALL | So many Zone 33 |
| N9OK | SA HIGH ALL | Definitely one of the most enjoyable CW contests I've ever operated in. Good band conditions and being more comfortable with my setup made it more enjoyable than in the past. I exceeded my goal which also helped |
| N9TF | SA LOW ALL | Personal best for this Little Pistol. Even worked DXCC-In-A-Contest for the first time ever with 107 unique DXC in the log. 40m was the most fun. DX was loud and plenty-full on 40m both nights. Saturday night was the best though. Rolled out of bed just B4 sunrise Sunday morning to test my luck on 40m to Asia and PAC and wasn't disappointed. 40m was a rock star! Good openings to Asia and PAC on 10 and 15 Saturday late afternoon and early evening. VK9DX was as loud on 40m early Sunday morning as he was on 10m Satuday early evening! Lots of fun chasing mults and DX around the bands. One thing that would make CQWW DX contests even more exciting would be the addition of a single element wires/verticals category. TB/Wires will always out perform the simple single element stations. There are lots of us out here! It would be nice to be able to compete against similar stations for awards. I would be first in line to sponsor a plaque/s for this category. Think about it...sereously please... 73, Gene N9TF K3S 100 watts to 6BTV ground mounted, or, 160m inverted L 22' vertical to knee |
| N9WKW | SA LOW ALL | Had to work over the weekend, so wasn't able to make as many contacts as I would have liked, but was still able to manage 110 QSOs from my car! |
| ND0C | SO QRP ALL | Poor conditions on Saturday, but things improved on Sunday |
| NE1B | SA HIGH ALL | Limited time. Holiday visitors |
| NG3Q | SA LOW 20M | Thank you to all who make this happen! |
| NI1Q | SA LOW ALL | I wish this contest didn't fall on weekends where exciting Formula 1 races take place. So I missed time for that, but honestly, both were very exciting. I decided from the beginning not to use the Flex 8400 (which I've decided to sell.) As a result I stayed with the IC-7610 and had no regrets. There were times I hit over 60 QSOs per hour. I think for the forseeable future, I'm sticking with what I know. I did order the new IC-7300 Mk2 and it will be interesting to see how it's receiver stacks up to the 7610. I was happy to actually make 2 160 contacts! I think one of my projects if the weather improves is to put my 160 inverted L. Also the 80M vertical served a purpose and I had more contacts on it than I expected. It's a good antenna for transmitting. I may add a trap for 40M as having a full sized 40M vertical could come in handy. At any rate, I will be adding more counterpoise(s? | radials?) to it. Now that I've gotten over my shyness about programming in C++ again, I've started work on a dedicated Morse code decoder and my station controller. I'm finding some limitations in the Icom CIV commands (the most aggregious is no command to auto-tune CW and RTTY) but I will possibly be able to work around it. One thing I did notice was that the N1MM+ I/Q display seems to be more sensitive to receiving weak signals than I can hear. I don't use CW Skimmer and I'm not sure if the sensitivity would carry over to it, but I noticed N1MM+ identified signals (and displayed them) that I could not hear. Perhaps my 'low noise' filter setup is killing them off. Only time (and programming) will tell for sure |
| NK8O | SA LOW ALL | LIMITED PARTICIPATION BUT FUN, NONETHELESS |
| NL8F | SO HIGH ALL | Fun contest |
| NN4N | MULTI-ONE HIGH | Highest score ever in any contest at AD4ES station. Worked all zones. Tired but happy campers |
| NN4X | SA HIGH ALL | Life got in the way of any kind of meaningful effort. Most interesting observation was when I was on 10m calling V85HG. He was about S7 here, and then suddenly a BIG signal called him - JT5DX! I don't believe I've ever heard a V8 - JT QSO before! |
| NO2D | SO QRP ALL | Used my Yaesu DX-10 and an 80 meter doublet fed with window line and an LDG auto-tuner, running 5 watts. Missed some great rare, to me, DX who could not hear my 5 watts through the din. Great Contest. Pete, NO2D |
| NO3U | SA HIGH ALL | Always a fun and competitive contest and this year was certainly no exception. Great 10m band conditions Sunday morning contributed to my first million point contest! Go FRC! |
| NO9E | SA HIGH ALL | Conditions not bad with 10m wide open but sigs strong only on 40m. Some signals with echo hard to copy. Installed new firmware for 4.0.1. Flex. Big mistake. Crashes and APF not useful |
| NP3A | SA LOW 40M | ORDERED NEW ANTENNAS FOR A SO AB EFFORT BUT UPS SCREWED MY PLANS. ONLY 40M ARRIVED ON TIME DESPITE PAYING NEXT DAY SERVICE AND ORDERING THEM MORE THAN ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE |
| NQ2W | SO QRP ALL | Thanks for hearing my QRP station! 73/ Will, NQ2W |
| NQ4Y | SA HIGH ALL | Had an awesome time S&P! Many great ops! |
| NR4M | MULTI-MULTI | DE K7SV A lot of time was spent by the crew affecting repair to antennas, rotators and antenna switching in weeks prior to the contest. All the antennas and rotators except the top 40 OWA rotator worked well throughout the weekend. It’s always cool to work 5band DXCC in a weekend. It was equally cool to work WAZ on 40! We’ve certainly seen better conditions on 160 and 80, especially the former. 80 seemed to be better to Eu the second night, particularly to Scandinavia and Russia. On the other hand it seemed much poorer to Asia the second night. It’s time to remove the lot of conifers that have grown in the midst of the 80 4SQ since it was built a number of years ago, but it’s still quite effective. We were pleased to have a couple of new ops join us for the weekend. One was quite new to contesting. He was thrilled to work a Handful of juicy mults on 15 meters. Operating from a multi operator station can really help turn a budding contester into a lifelong diehard! The crew extends their gratitude to Steve and Caroline for hosting the crew for the weekend. Likewise kudos to those who assisted with repairs and getting a couple of beverages up just prior to the contest. Now on to ARRL DX CW |
| NS8O | SO HIGH 80M | 80 M Beverage on the ground really helped cut the static! |

| NU4B | SO QRP ALL | RIG: Heath HW-9 ANT: HF9V |
| NU8A | SO HIGH ALL | 59 ft wire antenna 35 ft above ground |
| NY0J | SO LOW ALL | Not too bad for 100w and a 40' gutter/downspout antenna. 10M was GREAT!!! |
| OE1OPW | SA LOW 15M | on Saturday bad condx for QRP. So I change to 100W category |
