W2AAB | SO LOW ALL | First multiband effort in many years, by a CW guy. Conditions were variable on 20 and 40, but 15 meters was smokin' both days. Some horrendous pileups made it rough for those of us using low power. Onward to the CW weekend. Go FRC! |

W2DWS | SO LOW ALL | Radio = KX3 with KXPA100, Antenna = Chameleon MPAS 2 with 17 foot whip, 5 foot os the ground |
W2IRT | SA HIGH ALL | Glad this is over. Everything in the shack was in great shape except the operator. I really wasn't feeling well all weekend, and wasn't in the right frame of mind to contest. Couple that with conditions that were so bad virtually nobody was hearing me, even with 1500 Watts and Yagis up 70 feet, and the ones who did kept busting my call repeatedly. It was dispiriting and honestly all I wanted to do was go to bed and rest, and do other things around the house. Of course COVID put the kibosh on having other ops over for my preferred M/S operation, and 18 hours in the chair was the best I could muster. This used to be my favourite contest event of the year but I was dreading it this year and all I wanted was 2359z to arrive on Sunday night |
W2MKM | SA HIGH ALL | Glad I decided to hook up the JK Big Tri that is tied to a fence post awaiting the arrival of my tower ... was effective at 5' in making 185 Qs, 16 zones, 48 countries on 15M ... one of my FRC colleagues dubbed it the TOG Tribander on Ground .. MKM |
