E2AMULTI-ONE HIGHAnother year with CQ WW CW is history from at «The Center of the World» in Isan, North East Thailand. As usual, a lot of maintenance, and a bit of upgrade work, had to be done prior to the SSB and CW WW contests. Stig and Dietmar fell ill, before really getting started on the preparations, so we were delayed, and in the end perhaps achieved ½ of what was planned. But, over the years, we have come to recognize, and especially as we all are getting older, these preparations take time and cost a lot of energy, here in our very hot climate - and we are not that efficient any more. But, we try to do our best to represent Thailand and South East Asia, in this great yearly event. Many thanks for the tremendous efforts to all the participants. A special thanks to super-Dietmar, as we call him – DL3DXX. Without him, I wonder if we other ’’oldies’’, could have kept on going any more. On behalf of us all at the station to (super Dietmar) – Thank You ! A special joy was to have a fellow contester from Norway, Svein – LA3BO – visiting us for this CW contest. Thanks Svein for the help in the preparations and well performed at «the key». Also a necessary parameter, and the most important issue of all, to continue to operate this station from Isan, is the support and participation from the Thai group members, Khun Champ - E21EIC, Khun Goi - E20NKB - (JC), Khun Ray – HS4RAY and others. Thank you - Khob Khun Khrup ! Band conditions were not good the first part of the contest, but – it picked up nicely, letting us set a new station and Thailand record, in category Multi Single, and a possible new category record for ASEAN – the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. All in all I would say the band conditions were average to low average, here in our region. Under the current CQ WW rules, it is not possible to compete for Asia from zone 26, as we never can challenge serious entries in countries like Cyprus, Turkey or Israel, as they are far closer to Europe and the US, compared to us. Our main challenge though, as probably the majority of the contest entries, is the ever increasing, man made noise. We have tried and done almost all known methods to reduce the noise, but – as the station is located within a village, more and more neighbors are getting an increased number of rubbish electronical gadgets, produced in countries that do not follow international standards. For sure we could have made at least additional 20 % QSOs – 1000 QSOs or more - if we only could receive better. It slows us down, struggling in the noise to copy ’’weaker’’ signals. Apologies to those calling us, that we could not pick out in this noise. The noise decreases the accuracy rate as well, but – as we all know, on that part there are many contest participants that struggles with the same problem. Thank you to all that worked us, and had patient with us. See you all at the next one. Please work us whenever you hear us. 73 HS0ZGD (LA7JO) Stig on behalf of E2A @ HS0ZGD Contest Group of Ban Tabong, Phimai, Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat). Part of Siam DX Group. 'The Center of the World'

EI2KCSA HIGH 10MDecided to do some casual operating for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday. Was delighted to see/hear that 10m was in great shape. Worked the world with my trusty Antron-99 vertical antenna. Logged 102 DXCC, 31 zones and 585 QSOs. Not a bad effort for a small station. Best DX was VK6T, VL3A, plus some JA, BY, HS0, KH2. A few interesting African countries also logged, including TL, TY and what a thrill when TZ4AM called me while I was running. An enjoyable weekend of contesting. EI2KC
