K6OKSA HIGH ALLI thumbed my nose at the A-index over 20 and had fun anyway. Contesting under poor conditions beats no contesting

K7ACZSO LOW 20MRIG ANT I TRIED STARTING ON 40 MTRS FRIDAY NIGHT BUT COND WERE TOO POOR. SO I DECIDED TO DO 20 MTR SINGLE BAND. I INCLUDED MY 40 MTR QSO's SO PEOPLE I WORKED WILL NOT RECEIVE A NIL FOR THEIR CONTACT. COND OVERALL SEEMED POOR. EURO STATIONS WERE NOT VERY STRONG AND MANY COULD NOT PICK UP MY CALL. COND WERE WORSE FOR ASIA/PACIFIC. NORMALLY LOUD JA AND KH2 STATIONS WERE JUST READABLE. THE ONE ONLY DU AND BY I HEARD WAS RIGHT AT THE NOISE

K7VITSA HIGH ALLWith the K-Index at 4 or higher for 33 hours out of 72 hours prior to the end of the contest, band conditions seemed pretty tough to me. My poorest performance in this test in years. Thanks to all who answered my calls. 73, Jerry
K7XCSA HIGH 80MNow that I am retired, I am often up very late & sleep in till noon. As such I decided to enter as Single Band 80M High Power Assisted to try and work some new ones on the band. Used a FLEX3000 driving a AL80B to 800W output feeding an Inverted Vee at 38ft. Heard far more stations than I could work so Maybe need to find a full 1500W out amplifier in the future. See you all next month in my Favorite... CQ WWDX CW! KB!

K8YESA HIGH ALLEnjoyed the time I spent in the contest! Thanks!
K9GXMULTI-ONEI invited Dustin, KM4UNY, to operate as a 'Rookie' for his first contesting/DXing experience. During his approximately two hours 'BIC' he learned the meaning of QRM. Invited John, W9WR, who has been experiencing health challenges to sit in and he joined me for an hour or so Sunday afternoon. Amp blew a tube (I think) Saturday, operated from Saturday night on at 100 watts. Propagatoin was excellent for the bottom of the solar cycle. Operated a combined total of just under 12 hours. Not really a 'Multi-Op' in the true sense but Elmered a 'rookie' and enjoyed the company of a dear friend. 73, K9GX
