GW0EGH | SA QRP 40M | Hard work to make myself heard with 5w |
GW0GEI | SA QRP 10M | Fun casual entry in qrp section to set a new GW record. Conditions so good that I got sucked into doing semi serious entry. Great fun running 5w in shack to 100m of rg213 and 8 ele force 12 yagi at 40ft agl and 940ft asl |
GW0NVN | SO LOW 160M | Unfortunately I was unable to prepare in advance for CQWW SSB and thought I would miss it. I had no working antenna system or radio shack. However late on Sunday after clearing 10m of Clymatis Montana ( great for hiding masts ), I discovered that my 160m Inverted âUâ was still there. But no coax feeder. So I untangled it and set up the feed point so I could measure it at a later date. Listening on the Derby Topband Online SDR ( www.1942KHZ.net ) showed plenty of stations on. So I measured the resonance of the antenna. Finding it very close to the bottom of 160m. A re-adjustment of the wire, an extra earth spike and some short leads to the old earth mat brought the antenna into resonance and a low vswr on Topband. A fresh run of coax and a rig set up on the kitchen work top. With two hours before the end of the contest I was on the air. Plenty of strong stations, but no replies. DF0HQ gave me a QRZ but no more. Was the antenna radiating? Even a Dummy Load shows a low vswr. I quickly grabbed a roll of cable and clipped one end to the earth spike and rolled it out as a radial. Instant success, DF0HQ first call. I then added another short radial and started to work the stations. I am pleased with the stations worked in the short time I was on air. I was really pleased to hear VY2ZM at the usual time of 2330 onwards. Hope everyone has a good year, stay safe, 73âs GW0NVN |
GW1PJP | SO LOW ALL | really enjoyed my 1st cq contest |

IB5B | SO LOW ALL | Much more QSOs than last year. But I could hardly beat my 2019 score despite 20% QSOs Much less active Countries..Covid effect? Propagation? Or bad band management by myself? Anyway, good fun as always Luca |
IC8WIC | SO HIGH 80M | Thanks to IC8OGS for hosting me in his QTH and to IC8POF, IC8SDL & IC8AJU for precious help in setting up the antenna system, and to Murphy to steal internet connection at the last minute |
