Otherwise it was a very enjoyable contest. Testing my recently purchased second hand Acom 2000A amp was also a lot of fun. Broke my old record but the score could have been better. Anyway breaking 2000 QSO's was a thrill |
| OG8M | SO HIGH 15M | Preparations prior to the start could have once again been done a bit earlier. This time got antennas up well in advance (two days). Rotator assembly was done two hours prior, on pitch-black and -6 degree weather. Station owner OH8PF/oH8Z is quite a wizard. Thanks mate! Contest-wise the weekend was the most enjoyable eventhough on Sunday the lady aurora threw some spanners in. Thank you all for Qsos! |

Apart from usual propagation, splatter, frequency fight, etc, 1. I was asked to QSY to 160/80m. Also told 'thanks for OH multiplier' It never happened in previous years. I thought recent WRTC qualification rule change encourages more OH to participate in SOAB. 2. Despite clearly prohibited on the rule, I was asked to spot station several times!?
