| W5GAI | SO QRP 10M | This was my best ever single band QRP entry. Band conditions were excellent in all directions at the usual times, east early and west toward sundown. Operated 5 hours 1st day - to let the pileups clear a bit early on, and 10.2 hours 2nd day when making QSOs was easier. S&P method was to start high around 28160 and work down the band, and repeat. Had to use +- TX offset half the time to eventually log a pileup QSO. Managed to log UA0, VR2, BG4, 4W8X, YB, 3B8, 7Q6 just when propagation peaked their signals here |

It was strange at times to hear very loud zone 16 stations while zone 14 stations were generally weaker. Changes in propagation seemed to occur every hour. It was nice to see 3B8 and 3B9 on 15m, but the only zone 36 I heard was ZD7BG, and he was quickly chased away by the unruly pileup. It was a big surprise to get calls from two VU stations. Have not seen contest activity above 28100 for quite a while. Great condx on 10M Sunday after some disturbed condx Saturday early. Still, I enjoyed 40M with 64 countries and 24 zones worked from home in Fort Collins, CO with butt in chair and hand on knob. All S&P, no runs. TS-890S, Ameritron ALS-600 or Dentron MLA2500 Antennas: 10-15-20M HyGain Explorer 14 at 40 feet. 40M 1100 foot loop up 65 feet or HB full size elevated vertical with elevated radials When I didn't want to spin Yagi around from the great condx to my West and then back to EU or SA, I have nice little 44 foot doublet (300 ohm fed) up 40 feet for 40-10M |

| WA8Y | SA HIGH ALL | Abdominal pain, forced me from the shack a few times. I over slept my alarm. Conditions were poor on Friday and Saturday (Solar Flare?), I did S&P, looking for new multipliers. 40m propagation to Europe closed a couple hours earlier than expected. 80 and 160 meters were a bust. Only 40 and 20 meters were open on Friday and Saturday. Sunday was much better and I had a good run on 10 and 15 meters. My 15m run was too late and the band dropped out. I QSY'd and ran on 20 meters (4W8X called me). Later on, 10 and 15 opened to Asia. I managed a few more Qs on 40 meters as well. I should have tried 80 meters on Friday or Saturday. It was open on Sunday, and my receive antennas were working but too late, too little. Sunday evening (local time), 20 meters was open to everywhere while beaming North and I managed to bust several pile-ups to captures some new ones in the last few minutes |
